AHN, Frederick Martin

1903 - 1987

Born at Brixton, London on 10 February 1903, eldest child of Martin Ahn, manufacturing farrier, and his wife Ellen née Ashfield (1872-1917), who married at Brixton in 1903. In 1911, 8 year old 'Frick' was living at 297 Summer Road, Peckham, London with his parents, 34 year old Martin, born Germany, and 39 year old Nellie of Brixton, with his sibling 9 month old brother Berthy. He married at Edmonton in 1926, Gladys Emma Jean Schmid (1904-1961) and secondly at Bury St. Edmund's in 1976, Nita Grace Goodchild (1903-1993). A member of the Ipswich Art Club and exhibited from 8 Maynewater Lane, Bury St. Edmund's, Suffolk in 1979 two pictures 'Portrait of Mr.John Chessel' and 'Mrs J. de Soir'. Also a member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle in 1979 from Bury St Edmund's. He died at Bury St. Edmund's in May 1987.
