ABERIGH-MACKAY, Mary Livingston

1874 - 1952

Born at Bellari, Delhi, India on 4 November 1874 and baptised on 8 January 1875, eldest of the four daughters of George Robert Aberigh-Mackay (1848-1881), Anglo-Indian writer and professor of English literature at Delhi College and Principal of the Rajkumar College Indore, and his wife Mary Anne Louisa née Cherry, who was born in 1852 and married in India on 13 October 1873, and died at Falkland House, Long Melford, Suffolk on 30 June 1921. In 1901, a 25 year old art teacher at Ladies Residential Chambers, Chenies Street, St Giles-in-the-Fields and St George Bloomsbury, London. She exhibited at the Royal Academy 1905-1906 from Long Melford, after sketching in the Kashmir Valley. She died at her home Falkland House, Long Melford in 1952, aged 78, she was unmarried.
