Johanne Humphreys

Born at Lowestoft, Suffolk in 1968, daughter of Harold A. Humphreys and his wife Maria D. née Constandinos, who married at Poole, Dorset in 1965. Educated at Manchester Polytechnic 1989-1992 obtaining a first honours degree. A sculptor and teacher making abstracted work in a variety of materials and organised exhibitions for Clock House Artists Association, backdrop paintings for photographers and visiting lecturer at Lowestoft College for Further Education and in 1998 participated in a return project in Minnesota, USA. A member and exhibitor at the Beccles Society of Artists and her other exhibitions include Yew Tree Open, 1st Open Studio Exhibition, Laxfield in Suffolk 1992; two-man show at Peter Pears Gallery, Aldeburgh 1994; 'On the Border' Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich 1997; and a shared show at Chappel Galleries 1998. Johanne had a solo exhibition at Neal Street, Covent Garden, London in 1993. She married fellow artist Laurence Edwards.
