Terry Jeffrey

Born at Clacton-on-Sea, Essex in 1945, son of Walter Frank Jeffrey (12 January 1914-1993), a fireman in the Fire Brigade, and his wife Hilda Lilian née Osborne (21 March 1911-2002), who married at Tendring, Essex in 1936 and in 1939 both living in Clacton, Walter at Fire Head Quarters and Hilda with her parents at 5 Town Hall Flat. Painter in watercolour and oil and has been painting for a living since 1984 having his own studio and gallery at Mile Hill Barn, Kelsale, Saxmundham, Suffolk and owns the Shakespeare House Gallery, High Street, Dedham, Essex. He prefers watercolours and oils to produce paintings which reflect the local landscape in all its seasons which are representational and impressionist in style and many of his paintings are full sheet in size with Italy, Spain, Crete and Portugal to be found within his portfolio. He has taught painting at Adult Education and contributed to the ĎArtist's and Illustrator'sí magazine. Mixed shows include Royal Society of Painters in Water Colour at Bankside Gallery; Beecroft Gallery, Southend; The Minories, Colchester and Kingston Hill Gallery, Kingston upon Thames. Solo shows of oil paintings include the John Russell Gallery, Ipswich in 2001, previous solo exhibitions were at Dedham Craft Centre and the Haste Gallery, Ipswich. He exhibited at the 'Visions of Sudbury' exhibited at St Peter's Church in 2009 a watercolour 'Connected-Church Street' and in 2012 two works were included at the Eastern Open at Kings Lynn.
