PEARSONS, Frank Baden

1920 - 2013

Born at Ipswich on 4 April 1920, son of Harry Pearsons (1884-1963), an antique furniture restorer, and his wife Florence Engeldow née Doole (6 August 1884-1981), who married at Ipswich in 1915 and in 1939 Florence was a tailoress living at 56 Bolton Lane, Ipswich. Educated at the Northgate Grammar School, Ipswich and Frank was a mainly a self-taught painter but studied under Cor Visser [q.v.] 1947-1950. An industrial designer, artist in watercolour, oil and ink. He exhibited at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and was a member of the Ipswich Art Club from 1948 but had exhibited from 56 Bolton Lane, Ipswich in 1946 watercolours 'Woodland Path', in 1947 'Sicilian Landscape' and 'Landscape with Lake', in 1948 'Landscape with Lake' and 'Willy Lott's Cottage, Flatford', in 1949 'Springtime, Nacton Woods', 'Belstead Lane' and 'The Orwell, near Ipswich'. He exhibited in 1951 watercolours 'Old Harbour Buildings, Newlyn' and 'Street Scene, Southern Italy', in 1952 'Farm Buildings, Rushmere', Autumn, Bromseswell, Suffolk', Winter Sunshine' and 'Flower Piece', he later lived at 56 Bolton Lane, Ipswich from where he exhibited in 1971 'River Orwell, towards Freston' and was a regular exhibitor. He died at Ipswich in 2013.
