CHEVALLIER, Olivia

1855 - 1926

Olivia Chevallier, was born at Rushmere St Andrew, near Ipswich on 14 April and baptised on 17 June 1855, daughter of Clement Chevallier (1819-1892), and his wife Jane Susanna (1821-1922, aged 102). A member of the Ipswich Art Club in 1879 and in 1883 she exhibited a sculpture (583a) ‘Water Lily’ and a 'Persian Plaque' (588a). She married at Rushmere, Ipswich in 1885, Revd John Mayhew Clarkson and in 1901, the 45 year old wife of 49 year old clergyman John Clarkson. was living at The Street, Brington, Cambridgeshire with three of their five children, Olivia Chevallier 14, Louisa Chevallier 12 and Thomas 2. Her husband died at Thrapston, Northamptonshire in 1912, aged 60 and Olivia died at Trimley St Mary, Felixstowe, Suffolk on 17 March 1926, aged 70.
