Colin Slee

Colin Roy Slee was born at Torquay, Devon in 1946, son of Roy George Slee (21 April 1921-1982) and his wife Audrey Parkes née Davey (24 November 1919-10 August 1987), who married at Newton Abbot, Devon in 1942. Colin studied at Newton Abbot College of Art 1961-1964, specialising in printmaking. Colin then worked in design studios as a graphic designer, typographer, and studio manager for advertising agencies in Exeter and Bristol before establishing his own design and artwork studio in 1982. He married at Newton Abbot in 1969, Susan A. Consonni (born 1946) and in 1996 they moved to Melton, near Woodbridge, Suffolk where Colin is a full-time artist. A landscape artist in dry and mixed media and acrylic with images from nature, the sea, and open spaces. A Life Member and exhibitor at the Ipswich Art Society from 1998 and exhibited from his studio at 23 Fernhill Close, Melton, Woodbridge, an acrylic on canvas 'Low Tide'. A member of the Suffolk Group of Artists and has also had group exhibitions Minories, Colchester; Halesworth Gallery from 1998; Taplin Gallery, Woodbridge; Mall Galleries from 2000 and the Linda Blackstone Gallery, Pinner and has also shown locally at Buckenham Galleries, Southwold; Abel Arts, Ravenham, Norfolk and Snape Maltings Galleries. Colin has also had solo exhibitions at the Haste Gallery, Ipswich and Tudor House Gallery, Aldeburgh and regularly exhibits at the Pastel Society.
