Colin Slee

Born at Torquay, Devon in 1946, son of Roy George Slee (1921-1982) and his wife Audrey Parkes née Davey (1919-1987), who married at Newton Abbot, Devon in 1942. Colin studied at Newton Abbot College of Art 1961-1964, specialising in printmaking. He then worked in design studios as a graphic designer, typographer and studio manager for advertising agencies in Exeter and Bristol before establishing his own design and artwork studio in 1982. He married at Newton Abbot in 1969, Susan A. Consonni and in 1996 they moved to Melton, near Woodbridge, Suffolk as a full-time artist. A landscape artist in dry and mixed media and acrylic with images from nature, the sea and open spaces. A member and exhibitor at the Ipswich Art Society from 1998 and exhibited from his studio at 23 Fernhill Close, Melton, Woodbridge, Suffolk in 2006 an acrylic on canvas 'Low Tide'. He has also had group shows at The Minories, Colchester 1997, Halesworth Gallery from 1998, Taplin Gallery, Woodbridge 1999, Mall Galleries 2000 and 2001 and the Linda Blackstone Gallery, Pinner 2002 and has also shown locally at Buckenham Galleries, Southwold; Abel Arts, Ravenham, Norfolk and Snape Maltings Gallery. He had solo exhibitions at the Haste Gallery, Ipswich and Tudor House Gallery, Aldeburgh both 1999 and regularly exhibits at East Anglian Group of Marine Artists and at the Pastel Society.
