TURNER, Jane Randell
Jane Randell Turner was born at Clare Lodge, Henley Road, Ipswich and baptised at St Peter's Church, Ipswich on 19 May 1864, daughter of Edward Rush Turner (23 December 1823-10 February 1904), engineer in Ipswich engineers E. R. and F. Turner, and his first wife Charlotte Julia Randell (27 May 1832-13 July 1868), daughter of Henry Rump Randell, who married at Acle, Norfolk on 17 September 1853. Jane was a sister of Ethel Turner. In 1881, Jane was a 17-year-old student at Lytton House, Lytton Grove, Putney, London, when Eleanor Ann Fosdick was also a pupil. A member of Ipswich Fine Art Club 1883-1889 and exhibited from Clare Lodge, Henley Road, Ipswich in 1883, 'On the Orwell' and 'A Portrait'. In 1891, Jane was staying with her cousin, 28-year-old Frederick Bradbury, a silversmith, and his family at St Kilda, Melbourne Avenue, Westbourne Road, Ecclesall Bierlow, Sheffield, Yorkshire, Frederick's parents were Joseph Bradbury (1826-1877) and Ann Sarah Turner (1836-1877), who married at Ipswich in 1857. By 1901, 37-year-old Jane was back living at Clare Lodge, Ipswich with her parents. Jane Randall Turner was of Clare Lodge, Ipswich when she died on 28 September 1903, she was unmarried and the printed BMD records (Ipswich 3rd qtr 4a 505) gives her age incorrectly as 30.
