TURNER, Jane Randell

1864 - 1938

Born at Ipswich and baptised at St Peter's Ipswich on 19 May 1864, daughter of Edward Rush Turner (1823-1904), senior partner in Ipswich engineers E. R. and F. Turner, and his wife Charlotte Julia née Randell (1832-1868) of Clare Lodge, Henley Road, Ipswich. In 1881, a 17 year old student at Lytton House, Lytton Grove, Putney, London. A member of Ipswich Fine Art Club 1883-1889 and exhibited from Clare Lodge, Henley Road, Ipswich in 1883 'On the Orwell' and 'A Portrait'. In 1891 she was staying with her cousin at Melbourne Avenue St Kilda, Westbourne Road, Ecclesall Bierlow, Sheffield, Yorkshire but by 1901 was back living at Clare Lodge, Ipswich. She died in the Blyth district of Suffolk in 1938, aged 73, she was unmarried. Her father was born in December, 1823, the son of Walton Turner, a leather merchant, and apprenticed to the firm of Bond, Turner and Hurwood.
