WOODARD, Frederick Stanley

1904 - 1988

Born at 3 Withipoll Street, Ipswich on 28 March 1904, son of Jabez Woodard, a paper-bag agent, and his wife Harriett née Alderton who married at Ipswich in 1889. A self-taught painter and most of his work are landscapes in acrylic and were painter after his retirement in 1968. He married in Ipswich in 1932, Emily Bertha Mortimer and their son was Adrian Woodard [q.v.] A member of the Ipswich Art Society from 54 Henley Road, Ipswich and exhibited with annually including in 1985 'Apples' and 'Chalk Quarry-Approaching Storm' and also exhibited with the Frederick Gallery, Raveningham, Norfolk and Haste Gallery, Ipswich. He died at Ipswich in 1988.
