Born at Ipswich in 1924, son of Herbert John Leslie Barefoot [q.v.], architect, and his wife Amy Gladys née Goddard, who married at Croydon in 1913. A member of Ipswich Art Club in 1942 from 3 Graham Road, Ipswich, the home of his parents. He married at Westminster, London in 1948, Patience Heaslop Cunningham (1920-1996) and they lived at 6 The Avenue, Ipswich. He exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club in 1942 four works 'East Barnet Church', 'Cumberland Fells', 'Early Morning Landscape' and a sculpture 'Thought'.
