GREENAWAY, Phyllis Maude

1917 - 1994

As Phyllis Maude Rump, she was born at Smallburgh, Norfolk on 19 April 1917, daughter of Charles Frederick Rump (1853-1924), an artist, painter and estate agent, and his wife Alice Maude née Mann, who married at Romford, Essex in 1909. She married at North Walsham, Norfolk in 1939, Rupert Greenaway (1898-1978) and they moved to 64 Brunswick Road, Ipswich. As Phyllis Greenaway a member o the Ipswich Art Club 1950-1972 and exhibited from Brunswick Road, Ipswich in 1951 four watercolours 'Silver Morning, Holdbrook', 'The Pear Tree in Full Bloom', 'Velvet Glow' and 'Easter Sunshine, Barham Green', she had three watercolours on show the following year 'A Suffolk Farm Track', 'Midsummer Charm' and 'Summer Delight' and was a regular exhibitor. In 1968 had on show two watercolours 'June' and 'Farm Track at Foxhall, Suffolk' with her last exhibit in 1969 an oil 'Kersey, Suffolk'. She died at Ipswich in 1994.
