COLLER, Joan

1907 - 1974

Marjorie Joan Coller was born at Ipswich on 10 July 1907, daughter of Edward Henry Coller, draughtsman in the land valuation revenue office, and his wife Margaret Alice née Haggar (20 August 1878-2 August 1961), who married at Ipswich in 1902, a sister to Dorothy Coller. In 1911, Marjoirie Joan was a 3-year-old, living at 58 Foxhall Road, Ipswich with her parents, 35-year-old Edward, born Gloucester and 32-year-old Alice and her sibling, 6-year-old Dorothy, all born at Ipswich. Known as Joan Coller, she exhibited from 67 Corder Road, Ipswich at the Ipswich Art Club, three watercolours 1926-1929, ‘Burford’, ‘Bird Study’ and ‘Interior’. Joan married at Ipswich in 1929, Frederick Archibald McIntosh (23 October 1897-31 October 1977), a press telegraphist, and they lived at 82 Corder Road, Ipswich where they were still living in 1939. Marjorie Joan McIntosh died at Manor Cottage, Tuddenham St Martin, Ipswich on 31 August 1974. Her husband died at Oldstead Grange, Coxwold, York in 1977.
