As Marisa Parnes, she was born at Marylebone, London in 1956, daughter of Maurice John Parnes and his wife Iris Barbara née Poster (1933-1979), who married at Paddington, London in 1952. She married at Westminster in 1982, David J. Sharp and paints under the name of Marisa Sharp. She studied at St Martinís School of Art, London obtaining a B.A. in Fine Art and Painting in 1978 and at the University of East Anglia for her M.A. in Visual Practice and Context in 2000. Her work is a complete openness to random ideas, emotions and impulses, trusting instinct and a personal visual language. A painter, printmaker and installation artist and a member and exhibitor with 'Young Blood' 1995-1997 and is a member of the Suffolk Group also exhibiting at the London Group, Clockhouse II, Colchester and the Ipswich Art Society and has exhibited in a two person show, Tricycle Theatre, London. Also an exhibitor at 'Drawings for All', Gainsborough House, Sudbury 1994; 'This is 1999' The Room Upstairs, Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich 1999; with solo shows at Red Dot Gallery, Ipswich 2000 and Installation, St Stephens Lane Churchyard 2001. She lived at Charsfield, Woodbridge, Suffolk.
