HARRISON, Thomas
Thomas Harrison was baptised at Tivetshall, near Dickleburgh, Norfolk on 13 May 1827, son of Thomas Harrison and his wife Frances (c1794-1881). In 1861, a draper's assistant living in Ipswich and in 1881 a 53-year-old draper's assistant, living at 48 High Street, Ipswich with his 87-year-old widowed mother Frances, born at Bury St Edmund's with a housekeeper and a sick nurse. Originally a member of the Ipswich Art Club in 1878 but does not seem to have exhibited but, on his retirement, he took up painting again and rejoined the Ipswich Art Club 1895-1908 but again, does not seem to have exhibited when his address was still High Street, Ipswich. In 1901, a 73-year-old retired draper's assistant, still at 48 High Street with a boarder, housekeeper, and a servant. Thomas Harrison died at Ipswich on 10 February 1911, aged 83, he was unmarried.
