HAWTHORN, Victor Henry

1915 - 1973

Born on 27 June 1915, son of Henry Hawthorn (21 September 1889-1962) and his wife Laura Louise née Dayman (21 March 1891-1975). In 1939 a member of the London Fire Brigade, living aty 137 Endlebury Road, Chingford, Essex with his parents. During the Second World War, Victor served in the Royal Engineers at Colchester and he married at Epping, Essex in 1957, Ivy Isabel Anderson (1912-2002). An artist in oil and a member of the Ipswich Art Club 1960-1973, exhibiting from 'Easterly', The Street, Tending, Essex in 1969 'Roses' and 'In Bere Forest, Hampshire', in 1970 'Roses', in 1971 'Mr A. Brazier', in 1972 'Evening at Brightlingsea', 'At Heybridge Basin' and 'Papillon', in 1973 'Betty', 'Sunlight and Shadows' and 'Lilies'. He died in the Colchester district of Essex in 1973.
