KENNELL, Olive May
Olive May Kennell was born at 32 Warwick Road, Ipswich on 18 June 1897 and baptised at St Helens Church, Ipswich on 7 July 1897, only child of John Kennell (30 January 1870-7 June 1957), wholesale grocer's clerk, and his wife Frances Charlotte née Thorpe (9 April 1871-5 April 1960), who married at Ipswich in 1896. In 1901, Olive was a 3-year-old, living at 112 Spring Road, Ipswich with her parents, 30-year-old John, born at Ipswich and 29-year-old Frances, born at Burgh, Suffolk and by 1911 they had moved to 41 North Hill Road, Ipswich. In 1909 she entered the Ipswich Municipal Secondary School and in 1939, was living at 59 Fonnereau Road, Ipswich with her parents. An honorary member of Ipswich Art Club 1955-1956 but does not seem to have exhibited. Olive May Kennell died at 'Dunmore', 30 Courtenay Road, Newton Abbott, Devon on 25 July 1979, she was unmarried.
