McDONALD, Peggy
As Peggy Winifred Tortice, she was born at Holton St Mary, Hadleigh, Suffolk on 25 January 1923, daughter of Arthur Tortice (15 December 1895-1988), a gardener, and his wife Leonora Herman Payne-Waller (10 March 1896-1982), who married at Norwich in 1922. Peggy married at Ipswich on 28 January 1943, Walter Clive McDonald (12 December 1919-1974) and painted under the name of Peggy McDonald. A painter in oils and a member of the Ipswich Art Club from 1958, exhibiting from 80 Hogarth Road, Ipswich in 1957, two pictures 'Rain Clouds' and 'Delphiniums', in 1958 'Darnholme, Yorkshire' and 'Autumn Glory' and in 1959 'Staverton Forest' and 'Sea Poppies, Rye Harbour' and in 1974 'Old Cottage, Butley Mill' and 'Pink Poppies'. She married secondly at Ipswich in 1974, Frederick William Henry Warner (24 June 1910-5 November 1999). Peggy Winifred Warner died at Felixstowe, Suffolk on 14 July 2010, leaving one son Laurence McDonald.
