Lynda M. Spendley was born at Colchester, Essex in 1949, daughter of Bernard Francis Spendley (6 December 1901-1977), a foreman for a cattle food manufacturer, and his wife Ida Beatrice née Lewis (31 May 1910-1987), who married at Harwich, Essex in 1946 and in 1939 Bernard was living at 'Dinxape', Harwich Road, Mistley, Essex and Ida at 11 Regent Street, Mistley, Manningtree. Lynda was a member and exhibitor at the Ipswich Art Club from 1970 and exhibited from 11 Regent Street, Manningtree, Essex in 1969, oil paintings 'View on the Stour at Manningtree', in 1971 'Rigby Avenue, Mistley' and 'Wrabness Shore', in 1972 'The Walls, Mistley' and a pen and ink 'The Old Shipyard, Mistley Quay', in 1973 a pen and ink 'Repairs, near Mistley Quay' and a watercolour 'Fishing Fleet at Hastings' and in 1974 two watercolours ''Syd', at the Old Shipyard, Mistley' and 'Tugs at Harwich'. She married at Colchester in 1979, Raymond L. Morton.
