WALTERS, John Paton

1903 - 1993

Born at Streatham, London on 21 November 1903, son of Harold Paton Walters (22 March 1872-1961), a chartered accountant, and his wife Mary Edith née Donaldson (born 23 November 1873), who married at Hampstead in 1899 and in 1939 were living at 'Glengarry', Partridge Road, New Forest, Hampshire. In 1911, John was a 7 year old living at 5 Lewin Road, Streatham with his parents, 39 year old Harold and 38 year old Mary. Educated at Dulwich College and married at Ilford, Essex in 1959, Alison Axon Amor (1908-1984). A member of the Ipswich Art Club 1970-1973 and exhibited from 'Meadowside', Ufford Place, Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1970 two works 'The Sandlings' and 'Christmas Morning, M'dina, Malta', in 1971 'Cliff Quay, Ipswich' and in 1973 'Fruit Market, Zagreb', 'Grand Canal, Venice' and 'Chanticleer' all watercolours. He died at Great Bealings, near Ipswich, Suffolk in 1993 and buried in Saintsí Church burial ground, Little Bealings.
