Ferial Evans Rogers

As Ferial Evans Upson, she was born at Ipswich in 1941, daughter of Ronald Waller Upson (11 July 1912-1995), petroleum board ration manager, and his wife Beatrice May née Evans (1907-1998), who married at Lewisham in 1940. Ferial married in the Samford district of Suffolk in 1963, Michael C. Rogers and paints under the name of Ferial Rogers. She studied at Suffolk College 1988–1989 gaining a diploma in social work and worked for Ipswich Council for Voluntary Services. A past member at Suffolk Open Studios and elected member of the Society of Women Writers and Journalists, The International Guild of Miniature Artisans, the Society of Limners and the Suffolk Art Society. Freelance writer and artist since 1988, her crafts cover textile arts and modelling, many in miniature for collectors, writes articles for magazines and reviews for the local news and the author of ‘Goats, Their Care and Breeding’ (1984) and 'The Doll’s House’ (2013). An artist in watercolour who lives at Bealings near Woodbridge, Suffolk.
