William Arthur Farrow, was born at the Village Shop at Palgrave, Suffolk on 29 September 1915, son of Herbert Charles Farrow (11 June 1877-1952) and his wife Ethel May née Glanfield (born 3 July 1885), who married at Palgrave in 1911. In 1939, a studio animator & copyist, living and working in his father's shop at Drug Stores, The Green, Palgrave, with his parents and elder sister Gertrude Muriel (1913-1978). Billy married at Palgrave in 1955, Barbara Rumsey (1915-1990) and he lived at Palgrave for most of his life. He studied at Ipswich Art School and was an amateur artist and had several local shows of his work. He served as a driver in the Royal Engineers in Italy during the Second World War and retired to Fair Green, Diss, Norfolk where he died on 9 November 1999.
