FARROW, William [Billy] Arthur

1915 - 1999

Born at the Village Shop of Palgrave, Suffolk on 29 September 1915, son of Herbert Charles Farrow (11 June 1877-1952) and his wife Ethel May née Glanfield (born 3 July 1885), who married at Palgrave in 1911. In 1939, a studio animator & copyist and working in his father's shop, living at Drug Stores, The Green, Palgrave with his parents and elder sister Gertrude Muriel (1913-1978). Billy married at Palgrave in 1955, Barbara E. Rumsey (1915-1990) and he lived at Palgrave for most of his life. He studied at Ipswich Art School and was an amateur artist and had several local shows of his work. He served as a driver in the Royal Engineers in Italy during the Second World War and retired to Fair Green, Diss, Norfolk where he died in November 1999.
