FARROW, Billy
William Arthur Farrow was born at the Village Shop at Palgrave, Suffolk on 29 September 1915, son of Herbert Charles Farrow (11 June 1877-20 November 1952) and his wife Ethel May Glanfield (3 July 1885-11 November 1957), second daughter of Ephraim Glanfield of Diss, Norfolk, who married at St Peter's Church, Palgrave on 11 October 1911. In 1939, Billy as he was known, was a studio animator & copyist, living and working in his father's shop at Drug Stores, The Green, Palgrave, with his parents and elder sister, Gertrude Muriel (1913-1978). Billy served as a driver in the Royal Engineers in Italy during the Second World War and married at Palgrave in 1955, Barbara Rumsey (29 September 1915-27 February 1990) and he lived at Palgrave for most of his life. He studied at Ipswich School of Art and was an amateur artist and had several local shows of his work and retired to Fair Green, Diss, Norfolk. William Arthur Farrow died at Diss on 9 November 1999.
