JOHNSON, Alfred

1909 - 1980

Born at Ipswich on 9 August 1909, son of James Marshall Johnson (12 August 1881-1950), a foundry engine fitter, and his wife Maud Lily née Smith (27 February 1883-1955), who married at Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1906. In 1911, a one year old living at 64 Tomline Road, Ipswich with his parents, 29 year old James, born in London, and 28 year old Maud[e], born at Woodbridge. In 1939 an engineer's sales clerk, living at 34 Dover Road, Ipswich with his parents. A member of the Ipswich Art Club 1945-1948, exhibiting in 1944 two oils 'Sabu' and 'The King's Mother' and in 1945 from 34 Dover Road, Ipswich, 'St Bartholomew's Church, Ipswich'. He died in the Norwich district in 1980.
