BATTY-SMITH, Kathleen Lilian

1893 - 1987

Born at West Kensington, London on 21 December 1893, daughter of Henry Batty-Smith (1864-1927), newspaper proprietor, and his wife Lilian Emily née Kent (1867-1935), who married at Lewisham in 1890. In 1911, an 18 year old living at Swinley Hurst, South Ascot with her parents, 47 year old Henry and 42 year old Lilian, with her two sibling brothers, Sydney Harry 20 and Charles George 7, and they kept seven indoor servants. An Associate Member of the Ipswich Art Club in 1945 but exhibited in 1941 'The Pound, Higham' and in 1942 'Steam Roller' and 'The Garden, Benton End'. She died in the Surrey North-West area in June 1987, she was unmarried.
