PACKER, Harold John
Harold John Packer was born at Uplands Stroud, Gloucestershire on 2 July 1901, youngest of the five children of William Packer, a police inspector, and his wife Harriet née Bennett, who married at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in 1891. In 1911, Harold was a 9-year-old, living at the Police Station, Station Road, Cinderford, Gloucestershire with his parents, 50-year-old William and 47-year-old Harriet, with four siblings, William James 17, Reginald Thomas 15, Winifred Louise 14, and Ernest George 12. Harold married at Westbury on Severn, Gloucestershire in 1926, Enid Margery Bradley Wilce (22 April 1903-4 February 1993) and in 1939, a bank sub-manager, living at 83 Offington Avenue, Worthing, Sussex with his wife. About 1940 they moved to Ipswich where Harold was a member of the Ipswich Art Club from 111 Valley Road, Ipswich 1941-1947, but does not seem to have exhibited. Harold John Packer died at 'Barrymoor', 46 Hollybush Road, Cyncoed, Cardiff on 31 January 1976.
