TURNER, Ethel Rosa Neale

1891 - 1980

Ethel Rosa Neale Turner, was born at Woodside, Croydon, Surrey on 30 September 1891, daughter of Frank Turner (1858-1937), engineer, and his wife Ellen Elizabeth née Churchman (1857-1935), who married at Ipswich on 22 April 1882. In 1937, as Miss Ethel N. Turner she exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club from Lynwood, Bath Road, Felixstowe three works 'A Surrey Cottage' and 'Margaret Catchpole' and a watercolour 'Early Morning, Pollensa, Majorica'. In 1939, she was living at 23 Bath Road, Felixstowe and in 1941, as Miss Ethel R. N. Turner, again exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club 'Lucerne from Sonnenberg', in 1942 'An Oriental Model' and 'A Majorcan Road', in 1943 'A Wooden Bridge' and in 1944 'Eastwood Ho! Golf Course, Felixstowe' and later was an associate member of the Art Club 1960-1971 and exhibited from 43 Brook Lane, Felixstowe, Suffolk, oil paintings in 1960 'Somerset Gardener' and one in 1963 but does not seem to exhibited again. She died at Crawley, Sussex in 1980, she was unmarried.
