ROBERTS, Jill

1924 - 2016

As Jill Rosemary Collins, she was born at Kingston, Surrey in 1924, daughter of John Collins and his wife Ethel L. Jackson, who married at Guildford, Surrey in 1918. Jill married in Surrey in 1945, Bertram Clifford Roberts (2 October 1921-17 July 1988) and as Jill Roberts an associate member of the Ipswich Art Club and in 1972 exhibited from 'Giffords', Westerfield, Ipswich, two paintings and a further two in 1973, a watercolour 'Wintry Meadow' and an oil 'Eloeagnus' and in 1974 exhibited from Poplar Farm Cottage, Gosbeck, near Ipswich, a watercolour 'Reflections on the Thames'. A full member of Ipswich Art Club in 1977, when she exhibited from the same address 'Storm over the Deben' but in 1985 she exhibited from 16 Drybridge Hill, Woodbridge 'Loch Affric' but later moved to 26 Cherry Tree Road, Woodbridge. Jill Rosemary Roberts died at Grove Court, Woodbridge on 24 August 2016, aged 92.
