BROWN, Robert James Muirhead

1927 - 1982

Born at Chesterton, Cambridgeshire on 9 April 1927, son of James Brown, a dairy farmer, and his wife Dorothy née Garbett, who married at Rotherham, Yorkshire in 1924. In 1939 a student living at The Grange, Long Meadow Road, near Newmarket, Suffolk with his parents James (born 9 April 1879) and Dorothy (born 26 November 1900) and an elder sibling Thomas B. (born 26 November 1934). He married at St John the Baptist Dronfield, Chesterfield in 1951, Kathleen Cynthia Lucas. A member of the Ipswich Art Club in 1977 and exhibited from The Cottage, Great Bealings, Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1977 three sculptures 'The Fight', 'Housewares' and 'Tawyny Owl and Barn Owl'. He died at Great Bealings in 1982.
