JENKINSON, Winfred Beryl

As Winifred Beryl Dowsett, she was born at Brighton, Sussex on 6 August 1906, eldest child of Ernest Edward Dowsett (1874-1952), a congregational minister, and his wife Sophie Winifred née Joslin (1871-1971), who married at Orsett, Essex in 1899. In 1911, a 4 year old living at 54 Tressillian Road, Brockley, Deptford, London SE with her parents, 36 year old Ernest and 39 year old Sophie, and they kept two indoor servants. She married at St George Hanover Square, London in 1929, Harold Edgar Jenkinson (16 March 1891-1972), a chartered accountant, and they had three daughters and in 1939 were living at White Lodge, East Retford, Nottingham. A Member of the Ipswich Art Club and exhibited from The Coach House, Lower Ufford, Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1977 one picture 'Self Sown' and one picture in each of the two following years and two in 1980 'A Mixed Bunch' and 'New Street, Woodbridge'. She later moved to Manor Farm House, Wood Lane, Farnham, Surrey.
