GOOSE, Eric Joseph
Eric Joseph Tunnard Goose was born in Bombay, India on 23 July 1923 and baptised at All Saints Church, Malabar, Bombay, India, second of the three sons of Wilfred Francis Goose (27 May 1889-26 June 1884), a motor engineer, and his second wife Margaret née Tunnard (1884-11 May 1950), who married at Bombay, India on the 23 February 1920, Wilfred married for a third time in 1951. Eric was educated at Woodbridge School where he was a boarder in 1939 and, in August 1945 when living at Barnoldswick, he enlisted in the Royal Air Force. He exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club in 1943, two works 'Storm from Gog Magog Hills' and 'English Irises'. In 1973 an Air Commodore in the Royal Air Force and Director of Mechanical Engineering. He again exhibited at Ipswich from 12 Old Kirton Road, Trimley St Martin, Ipswich in 1979, two pictures 'Autumn by Loch Linnhe' and 'At Kennet, Southern Turkey'. He later moved to 'The Timbers', School Road, Sudbourne, Woodbridge, Suffolk and later to Cromer, Norfolk and was still living in 2024, aged 101.
