Paul Vousden

Paul Vousden was born in 1956. Educated at Birmingham Polytechnic and Colchester School of Art, after which he trained as a sculptor and silversmith, twice being awarded the Johnson Matthey award for design. In 2011, Paul concentrated on drawing and painting, particularly figurative work and cityscapes and has developed a distinctive style of abstracting shapes into colour and light, with form that reflects his sculptural background. He paints with life models and this style led to successful solo exhibitions in 2012 and 2013, entitled 'Life and Landscape' and 'Life in a Red Chair'. A member and exhibitor at the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists, winning the Rosemary Brushes Prize at closed exhibition and in 2013 elected to membership of Suffolk Art Society and where he regularly exhibits including in 2019 'Sunday Coffee'. He works from his studio at Hadleigh, Suffolk and his work is on show at Brook Farm Studio, Bildeston, Suffolk. He also exhibits at the Aubrey Gallery, Great Dunmow, Essex and has exhibited in Suffolk at Blackthorpe Barn, Rougham; Hadleigh Church; Bury Gallery, Bury St Edmund's and in Essex at Wormingford Arthub; Great Horksley Opera Festival; St Marys Higham and elsewhere.
