GREEN, Ms 'Jazz'

Born in Scotland. 'Jazz' studied at Farnham taking a BA in fine art and at the Royal College of Art gaining an MA in printmaking. Whilst a student at the RCA awarded an Erasmus travelling scholarship to Athens School of Fine Arts. Soon after graduating from the RCA was selected for the 'New Contemporaries' exhibition at the Institute for Contemporary Art, London. She then relocated from London to rural Suffolk. A painter/printmaker and derives inspiration and ideas for her art from the countryside where she lives, especially places where small elements of nature discreetly encroach or coexist with manmade forms and structures. She creates work in mixed media, from large paintings and small collages to sculptural wall-based reliefs, often with intricate textural qualities or naturalistic, sometimes muted colours. She has exhibited at Salt of the Earth, Salthouse Church, Norfolk and Eastern Open 09, King's Lynn Arts Centre both 2009; Rebirth, Art1821 Gallery, Norwich, Norfolk Contemporary Art 10, Textures, Traces & Elements, Beyond the Image Gallery and Elements: Man & The Environment, The Forum, Norwich all 2010; Six Abstract Painters, Halesworth Gallery and A Touch of Frost, Reunion Gallery 2011; Feeling the Pressure, Rhyl Arts Centre, On the Map, Hastings Museum & Art Gallery, Seven Ways, Wymondham Arts Centre and Ad Libitum, Apex Gallery, Bury St Edmunds, all 2012.
