HUDSON, Mark

1961 - ?

Born at Derby in 1961. Educated at Trinity College, Oxford 1980-1984, MA, History & Modern Languages; Camberwell College of the Arts 1986-1989, BA, Graphic Design; and St Martinís College of Art, London 1989-1991, Postgraduate Diploma in Illustration. In 1985 a freelance commercial artist and in 1997 co-founder of group design studios, London and at the same time a lecturer Camberwell College of Art and London College of Communication and Course Leader, BA (Hons) Graphic Arts, Buckinghamshire New University. Graphic Design lecturer, Barking College, Essex 1995-2007. Roving through various media, Mark has worked with printmaking, photocopiers, ink-drawing, carbon paper and acrylic paint before finally sidling into the digital era in 2000. His images are now drawn and composed by hand before being drawn up in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, and delivered via broadband. Originally from the plains of East Anglia, he now lives in Stepney, East London, with Amanda, Flora and Harriet, and works from a studio in the Clerkenwell area of the city. A member of the Ipswich Art Society and exhibited from 20a Cloudsley Square, London N1 in 1990 three pictures 'Alphabet City', 'Seaspring in the Wet Dock' and 'Martina in Ipswich Shipyard'.
