Jennifer Morys Foley was born at Ipoh, Malaysia on 2 December 1948, youngest child of Maurice George Foley (24 February 1911-20 February 1962), a government officer, and his wife Lily Henny née Hellendoorn (23 August 1922-1986) who was born at Bandung City, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Jennie married at Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire in 1975, Anthony P. Morris, but continues to paint under the name of Jennie Foley. Jennie spent more than 30 years working and exhibiting as an international textile designer and some 15 years of part-time teaching in the Printed Textile and Surface Pattern departments of Manchester Polytechnic, the North Staffs Polytechnic and as a visiting lecturer and moderator in other colleges in the UK. Jennie is now putting paint to paper and her designs have been produced on interior fabrics, wallpapers, bedding, rugs, paper goods and ceramic products in the USA and all over the world. Jennie works mostly on paper using mixed media and with a particular interest in colour. Her sources range from the everyday views of the minutiae of life as well as landscapes, travels, and memories. In 2004, Jennie and her husband moved from Manchester to London, and she has a studio at 10 Market Cross Place, Aldeburgh, Suffolk and exhibited locally at the Aldeburgh Gallery, 143 High Street, Aldeburgh.
