BIGNELL, Hazel
As Hazel J Warner, she was born at Sudbury, Suffolk in 1950 and married at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk in 1970, Eric L. Bignell and paints under the name of Hazel Bignell. Hazel studied on a Foundation course at Great Yarmouth Art School, Norfolk being awarded the course prize and gaining a B.A. (hons) in Fine Art from the Norwich School of Art and is a teacher at Norwich High School for Girls. Hazel spends much of her time by the cliffs and water's edge on Suffolk beaches, sketching, observing, walking, taking photos for reference and collecting found objects of interest, which are later used in her artwork. She paints in acrylics combining mixed media on board or canvas at her Art Studio at Brunella House, Stowlangtoft, Long Thurlow, Suffolk.
