Richard Kimmerling

Born in Surrey in 1946, son of Roger Charles Kimmerling (1905-1991) and his wife Mary Eirene née Grimmond (1 February 1906-1989), who married in Surrey South West in 1937 and in 1939 were living at 24 Buckland Waterden Road, Guildford. He graduated from Cambridge University in 1975 and taught English in Secondary schools in East Anglia 1976-1995 having married at Saffron Walden, Essex in 1967, Gillian S. Bateman. In 2004 Richard graduated from Ipswich School Of Arts and having lived and worked in East Anglia since boyhood his art is firmly rooted in its landscape and his smallholding at 'Little Barton', School Road, Knodishall in Suffolk where he and his wife lived for 35 years gave him a direct engagement with the landscape and made him conscious of just how big a part it has played in my life. An old fashioned printmaker, making etchings and lithographs and indulging his passion for drawing and painting. He has exhibited with The Contemporary Art Society and the Royal Society of British Artists at the Mall Galleries, London, and in both public and private galleries and represented by Cobbold and Judd Contemporary Fine Art and currently by The Buckenham Gallery, Southwold and The Maltings Gallery, Snape.
