SCOTT, Beryl

Beryl studied at the Central St Martin's College of Art gaining a BA in Fine Art, specialising in printmaking and photo-media. Living in Hertfordshire where she exhibited, winning the print-making prize on two occasions in the Hertfordshire Open Touring Exhibition. She moved to Badingham, Woodbridge Suffolk in 1994 and gained an MA in Visual Practice and Context at Suffolk University College, Ipswich. Using traditional techniques, relief printmaking such as linocuts and experimenting with digital technology, Beryl Scott is interested in social and political history and her work often refers to the workplace and comments on contemporary issues. A member and exhibitor at the Ipswich Art Society and has exhibited at various venues in Suffolk and Norfolk, including 'Art on the Prom' at Felixstowe. A printmaker with a studio at 19 Granville Road, Felixstowe using traditional printmaking and experimental techniques and where she has one-day workshops and people can experience various printmaking methods.
