Susie Yates

As Susan J. G. MacLachlan, she was born at Gainsborough, Lincolnshire in 1959, daughter of John Alan Stewart MacLachlan and his wife Jennifer J. née Gaffney, who married at Weymouth, Dorset in 1957. Educated at Ockbrook School, Derbyshire 19711977, Exeter College of Art, B.A. Fine Art 19771980 and Bretton Hall College of Further Education 19821983. As Susan MacLachlan she married in 1991, Robert E. Yates and paints under the name of Susie Yates. An artist and Head of Art at Framlingham College 1989-1992 and Head of Junior Art and Design Technology at Saint Felix School, Southwold 1996-2011 and part-time A level Textile Teacher from 2011. A painter and sculptor of voluptuous figures in terracotta and copper resin. Landscape and figurative paintings in coloured inks and mixed media. A member of Suffolk Open Studios and has a studio at Town Fen, London Road, Brampton, Beccles, Suffolk also the home of the family firm of Brampton Willows. Susie contributed to the 'Westhall Secret Postcard Auction' in 2013 'A View from Home'.
