BERWICK, Lyn A

? - ?

Lyn has been a practicing, full-time artist since about 1998, having returned to study at the Hampstead School Of Art. Lyn uses all medias using oils or acrylics depending on what she is working on at any given time, and likes to combine techniques in unusual ways, routinely ignoring any boundaries or accepted rules. She will combine printing, painting and collage, to great effect and her subject matter is eclectic tackling still life to abstract and representational subjects. Lyn seems to prefer the viscosity method of collagraph printing, whereby intaglio ink is rubbed in first in various colours, followed by a hard roller in another colour and finally a soft roller in yet another colour with the two final rolling's made with different measures of oil with ink enabling them to print over each other without removing the ink beneath. Before leaving London, Lyn had her first exhibition at the Sheridan Gallery and since then has exhibited at Blackthorpe Barn; Buckenham Gallery; Aldeburgh Gallery; Wingfield; The Crooked House Gallery in Lavenham; Pond Gallery at Snape; Swan House; Harleston Gallery and Beyond the Image Gallery. With her studio at Rose Villa, Church Street, Stradbroke, Eye, Suffolk she now takes part in the Cambridge Open Studios.
