Born in Perth, Australia in 1959, her father was Dutch and her mother English. She studied at Suffolk College School of Art and obtained at B.A. (Hons) Fine Art 2005 and an M.A. Fine Art in 2007 from Norwich School of Art and Design. She paints in oil and her paintings are a metaphorical unravelling of the past, often patterned they provide a way of viewing, engaging with paint as a material and a metaphor, applying each layer to expose or cover self and the constructed 'persona'. A member of Suffolk Open Studios from Newbourne Studios, 21 Mill Road, Newbourne, Woodbridge and had a solo exhibition at Vanilla Art Gallery, Leicester with other shows at Gun Street Gallery, Reading, Berkshire; Reyburn House, Whangarei, New Zealand; Forefront Gallery, Ipswich; Suffolk College, Ipswich; Art on the Prom, Felixstowe, Suffolk; Norwich Fringe Festival, Castle Mall, Norwich; The Frame Gallery, Ipswich and at the Norwich School of Art and Design
