BURROW, Deborah Eileen

1971 - ?

Born in Wallingford, Berkshire in 1971, daughter of Henry William Vincent and his wife Virginia K. M. née Drummond. Deborah has lived in East Anglia since 1972. Originally a registered nurse before becoming a professional musician but in 2008 was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis which prevented her from regularly performing as a musician or returning to nursing. Having been an enthusiastic novice painter, she had always wanted to be an artist so she took up as a professional artist in 2008. Growing up in the Suffolk countryside with its beautiful landscapes was one of the early influences that she began to capture in her paintings and her current work still reflects this, with her skills and reputation growing. Now a full time artist, her paintings commence with a basic sketch and plan and, as the creative process develops, allows the work to show itself and breathe its own life. Working in acrylics, media and watercolour, Deborah’s peaceful contemporary artworks are a reflection of her love for the Suffolk countryside around her. Her recent works are being influenced by places further afield such as Northern Ireland and Yorkshire, where she has travelled in 2013 and 2014 to see their counties beautiful scenery first hand. She has exhibited at Cinema Gallery, Aldeburgh; Halesworth Gallery; Snape Maltings Gallery; Peter Pears Gallery, Aldeburgh; Edmund Gallery, Bury St Edmunds; 101 Gallery, Felixstowe; Chimney Mill Gallery, West Stow, Bury St Edmunds; Upstairs @ The Tap, Cliff Quay, Ipswich; The Taplin Gallery, Woodbridge; Cambridge Contemporary Art, and elsewhere. She is currently represented by Cambridge Contemporary Art, Cambridge, The Freudian Sheep, Ipswich, and Persora in Pershore Worcestershire. Deborah is member of Suffolk Open Studios. www.deborahburrow.co.uk
