BUTTERY, Christine M

? - ?

About 1996 Christine came to live in Suffolk where she found she had both the time and inspiration to return to her lifelong interest in drawing and painting. Her background is in architecture and urban design, so her subject matter is frequently taken from the built environment, or shows buildings in their landscape setting. Initially she concentrated on pastels and watercolour, but has since branched into oils and printmaking. Christine attended her first workshop at Sudbourne Park Printmakers in 2006, never having tried printmaking before several more workshops followed until she became a full member of the group in 2009 and she enjoys the immediacy and essential simplicity of woodcuts. She has her studio at 51 Fairfield Road, Saxmundham and has exhibited at the Seizmond Gallery in Saxmundham, Suffolk.
