As Angela Purvis, she married at Beccles in 1995, Richard A. Cookson and works under the name of Angela Cookson. She painted in watercolour for several years, and after a career followed by a young family it was not until 2003 she attended the local art classes where she rediscovered her love of painting and drawing and was introduced to acrylic. Angela enjoys working on subjects with a strong contrast between light and dark and loves the textures that be achieved with acrylic paints. A member of the Beccles Society of Artists and her 'Covehithe Beach' won the 'Charles Jeffrey Award for Acrylics' in July 2013. She has her studios at 4 The Bridles, Beccles, Suffolk.
