HARRIS, Kimberley Jade

1988 - ?

Born in Ipswich in 1988, daughter of Stuart Harris and his wife Michaelina I. née Harris. Kimberley studied Art & Design at Colchester Institute 2005-2007 obtaining a BTec National Diploma before working as a commision artist and is also the holder of a Certificate in Marketing. A switch from watercolour to oils was inspired by a well-renowned and respected local artist who also introduced her to the palette knife, adding another signature style which gives depth and texture to the botanical subjects. Her style and inspiration has developed through a palette knife technique with oils, and through growing up in the Suffolk countryside. Her oil paintings capture the essence and atmosphere of a location, from the haunting darkness of forgotten and crumbling buildings, to an English meadow bursting with colour at sunset with the emphasis always on colour and the effects of shadows and light. An associate member of Suffolk Open Studios from 2 High Street, Acton, Sudbury, Suffolk. She exhibits her work in a number of local galleries including Risby and Saxmundham.
