HAYSOM, Shirley A

1935 - ?

Born in the Croydon district of Surrey in 1935, daughter of William J. Haysom (1909-1962) and his wife Nellie Amelia née Hookins (1911-2004), who married in Surrey in 1930. Shirley studied for a number of years with the Open College of the Arts, developing her own style being increasingly pulled by the attraction of colour and the relationships that develop while painting and is an artist of many years standing. Her favourite subjects are village scenes, preferably set in Southern Europe, to where she often travels and studies also visiting Scotland and the far West of Cornwall. A member of Suffolk Open Studios from her new studio, which is a wooden log cabin, right at the end of the garden at Lawson's, Framlingham Road, Easton, Woodbridge, Suffolk.
