PARKER, John Michael

1957 - ?

Born at Hackney, London in 1957, son of Kenneth Charles Parker and his wife Doris R. née Carmoody, who married at Hackney in 1949. John studied at The Norwich School of Art & Design, gaining a B.A.(hons) and a Diploma in Teaching in the Lifetime Learning Sector (DTLLS) from Norwich University of the Arts. Has been painting professionally since 1990 using traditional materials and techniques to produce contemporary abstract paintings in his individual style with a varied surface texture and rich vibrant colours. He has exhibited at The Affordable Art Fair, Battersea; Betty Morton Gallery, Brixton and at White Space, Greenwich. A Fine Art Practitioner, Art Tutor and lecturer in Art History and Art Appreciation and runs the art group Suffolk PAD [Paint And Draw]. He latterly moved from Great Wenham, Suffolk to 47 Church Street, Eye, Suffolk, IP23 7BD and is resident artist at Wingfield Barns, Suffolk where he holds Art Classes for all levels, every Tuesday 10am-4 pm.
