Lorna Murphy

Born at Folkestone, Kent in 1968, daughter of Francis E. Murphy and his wife Josephine B. née Savage, who married at Folkestone in 1966. Spending her childhood on the Kent coast and after working in the public sector for several years, returned to college studying art and illustration at Anglia Ruskin University 2005-2008, undergraduate B.A. Illustration and 2008-2011, a post-gradugate M.A. Children's Book Illustration. An artist in 2D and 3D mixed media, acrylic, digital art, drawing, mixed media, pastel with her main medium in illustration. From 2011 a freelance author and illustrator of children's books also working for clients such as MacMillan and Burroughs Wellcome as well as independents also working with her brother, the author Glenn Murphy. An associate member of Suffolk Open Studios from 8 Fordhams Close, Stanton, Bury St Edmunds.
