Joanna Louise Roberts was born in Ipswich in 1973, daughter of John Roberts and his wife Annette née McCorkill, Annette Roberts who married at Hastings, Sussex. One of a family team of artists, which include her parents, working in a variety of media and styles, presenting work individually or as a group through the Top Floor Studio, Quayside, Woodbridge, Suffolk which was set up by her parents in 1969 and is now run by Joanna and their daughter Joanna and son in law. Joanna specialises in lively drawings, mostly in graphite and her work displays a particular talent for quality of line and subtlety of grainy texture which together produce an exciting economical style particularly suited to animal subjects, mostly horses and dogs. Although much of the work is produced by commission many personal pieces have found their way into private collections in Canada, America, Africa and Hong Kong.
