Regine Parent

Régine was born in Belgium and is now based in Suffolk maintaining activities in both countries. She studied in Brussels obtaining a teaching diploma 1967–1969 and an Art Diploma in print-making design 1969-1971 and a B.A.(hons.) in French Literature and Linguistics from the University of London, Birkbeck College. Teaching French as a foreign language to professional adults (English and Spanish speaking), Brussels 1975-1978. An inveterate traveller and her passion for painting nature, frequently takes her to forests and jungles throughout the world, returning again and again to the same spot to explore the ever changing lighting conditions at different times of the day. She has held various teaching positions in London 1985, Belize 1992, France 1996 and West Africa 2001. Regine has exhibited at Galerie & Fils, Brussels; Laboratoire Goosens, Brussels; French Cultural Centre, Kigali, Rwanda; Bliss Institute, Belize City; Alliance Française, San Jose, Costa Rica; Lessedra Gallery, Sofia, Bulgaria; Wildlife Exhibition, The Mall Gallery, London; Peter Pears Gallery, Aldeburgh, Suffolk and is a member of Sudbourne Park Printmakers, from Orford, Suffolk where she also exhibits.
