Yvonne Forster

As Yvonne Marie Gardner, she was born at Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria in 1960, daughter of Colin Gardner and his wife Dorothy M. née Cobb who married at Barrow-in-Furness in 1959. Yvonne married at Barrow-in-Furness in 1984, Timothy P. H. Forster (born 1960) and paints under the name of Yvonne Forster. In 1989, they settled in Halesworth, Suffolk and in 2014 Yvonne took a B.A. (hons) degree in Fine Arts at University Campus Suffolk in Ipswich. For the professional practice module of her degree, Yvonne worked with the World Land Trust over the course of two exhibitions, creating artwork appropriate to the theme of the exhibition and the role of the Trust and was the first to take up the Student Spot at the World Land Trust Gallery. Colour plays an important part in her work, especially blues, oranges, and browns, which she uses to reflect both mood and situation. Over the last few years Yvonne has continued to work on a project based on the effects and consequences of the deforestation in the rain forests upon people, wildlife, and fauna, particularly in Brazil. She has exhibited at Flourish, Espacio Gallery, Shoreditch, London; Halesworth Gallery in Suffolk; Kunsthuis Contemporary Art Gallery, Craike, Yorkshire and elsewhere.
