1795 - 1881

Born at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk on 31 May 1795, and baptised at St James’s church, Bury St Edmund’s on 6 August 1801, daughter of Daniel Cooper [q.v.], a miniature painter and drawing master at Bury Grammar School, and his wife Martha née Hockley, and a brother to Edwin Cooper [q.v.]. Probably taught art by her father and her brother Edwin and she exhibited at the Norwich Society of Artists in 1822, from Beccles, Suffolk, 'Portrait of a Flower Girl' and in 1824, with no address, 'Portrait of Jonathan Garrard, a Woodman'. A retired schoolteacher, she died at her home in Christchurch Street, Ipswich in 1881, aged 86, she was unmarried.
